Leadership RolesCo-Founder
Starting a new club was sort of like starting a new business. You have to have people who you trust will support you throughout the process and surround yourselves with people who are also interested in the success of the club. It was difficult at first to decide what our mission was but in the end we were happy to move forward with what we believe was in the best interest of the club. President This position allowed me to focus on growing our membership and developing relationships. I headed all the large events including the Global Island Hopping event, Chinese New Year and Southeast Asia Night. I also developed relations with various Northeastern offices, government agencies and other Singapore Student Associations to help recruit new members. My Current RoleI still currently play an active role for the Students of Singapore club, mainly through managing their Facebook account and liaising with various offices including:
New Co-op Development with GEO
Most recently, I assisted Alane De Luca, Senior Associate Director of Global Employer Relations, connect Northeastern University with Yokogawa, a Japanese corporation with its headquarters in Japan and other international offices in Singapore, the US and Netherlands, to introduce the co-op program to the company.
Singapore Pre-Departure CarnivalBefore the new semester starts in Fall, I will be organizing, for the second year in a row, Northeastern's participation at the Singapore Pre-Departure Carnival for incoming students. It provides new students the opportunity to make new connections prior to going overseas. We also give advice on settling into a new school and city.
